Camden Connections

 Camden Connections Club was created by Cherry Hill High School East students in early 2023 with the goal of improving specific aspects of schools in Camden. Camden Connections partners with and supports elementary schools in Camden, New Jersey through fundraising and volunteering. Each year, the club aims to raise money and supplies for a specific department at a school in need of assistance. Inspired by their own musical backgrounds, founders Ella Hampton ('24) and Max Swartz ('24) decided to focus on the betterment of music programs for the duration of their time at East, hoping to impassion young students with music. After years of playing instruments, they realized how fortunate they were to afford instruments and have access to strong school music programs while only 20 minutes away there are students who are not given the same opportunities. As the club grows, they hope to build a large network of schools in which they can help build strong music departments. We are proud to announce that their primary school partnership is the Veterans Memorial Family School. Veterans Memorial Family School is a PreK-8th grade school and Community Center in Camden City, NJ. They aim to support the music program by raising money to purchase instruments for the students and also by visiting and interacting with the students to teach, perform, and just share their love and knowledge of music.
